Question by candlelite: Do you like these creative math games?Which do you like the best?
I tutor 4 kids in math at a middle school twice a week and I try to make it fun.So far they have been enjoying the games.I just came up with more and I want to get some opinions. and if you have any suggestions in how to make it better please give tip:

1.They complete multiplication problems in workbook(mandatory requirement). Around the room will be pieces of paper with numbers on them.When a problem is completed they must get up and search for the sign that has their answers.Once they complete all their problems and gather all their circles they win.There are no losers.I thought about writing something on the back of each card but think it’s not necessarily.

2.They sit in a circle in their desks.I go around and ask each person a math problem from the page they must do.They figure it out and give me an answer.If they get it wrong they must get in the middle of the circle and do whatever I say (like rap,push-ups,hop like a rabbit,etc)

3.They are seated in a circle.It starts with one person standing in the middle.I ask someone a math question.If they get it right the person can sit.If they get it wrong the person standing must do something and remain standing.If the next person gets an answer right then he/she can sit.If not the person must do something.

Also I have three cards games at home: Regular deck of cards, Ziggity,and Uno (aladdin theme). This is a math tutorial.Is there anyway I can use these items to help make math fun but at the same time have them practicing and learning basic matk skills.WORKING IN THE WORKBOOKS IS A MANDATORY THING.Soooo so far they having been doing that while doing something else.

If your kids are really, really young then that sounds fine.

If they are any older than 10 I feel sorry for them.

I am an artist.. or would like to be. Ive been heavily inspired by Tetsuya Nomura, in MY opinion one of the most influential and talented artists concept artists in gaming. My dream is to be have my bachelors in Graphic Design and be an art director or Concept Artist for a major company. Ill be starting at a 2 year community college, this year, to begin that path. ultimately i want to transfer to a 4year school and optain my bachelors there.
Im not so naive as to think that they will make me a great or even an exceptional artist. so ive taken steps to learn as much as i can on my own. Ive read books on perspective, human anatomy, expressions, etc. and have practiced until ive fallen asleep at my desk.As a result ive seen my work improve like night and day. I know full well that my art work during college will be my portfolio, as well as my prospective employers first impression of me.

so my question is this. though ive been preparing diligently. are there any neccessary tools that i can become acquainted with, before i start, that will give me an edge? i know drawing or sketching is not everything, i know there is a degree of potential web design involved as well
And can anyone reccomend any websites that would get me more acquainted with human anatomy, perspective, backgrounds, and illustration from an artist’s perspective?

though ive researched tremendously i dont want to neglect anything i can still learn or be better at.

Make an art journal that is talk about what inspires you and what you want to do and what made you do it as far as your art goes

Look at the American Public Schools. Our students fall way behind other countries in math and science. Foreigners can speak English better than our own students.

I teach at a 2year Technical College and 80%+ of our students have to take remedial classes in math and English before they can take on College coursework.
