Question by Casey: Are Computer help desk and database jobs being outsource to India or oversea?
I’m interested in these jobs but don’t want to take classes to find no job in these fields? This and information technology jobs.

Yes, there are alot of callcentre helpdesk positions outsourced to India.

Just ask any of the upest people with internet or phones in the UK ;o)
…or people like me that lost jobs to India because they will work for less than our minimum wage.

There are so many infact that agents there are verbally abusive to their customers, steal from them and generally play around with their accounts… get fired and just go to another call centre.

Nearly all the UKs helpdesk services are outsourced to India and other “developing” countries that have no idea how our network topology or phone systems work (or even how to dial the operator in our country – lol)

I want to start offering remote desktop support to customers, but I have no idea what to charge. Where have you gone for rate examples? And what is the easiest/cheapest (free?) software for doing this?

When I push the button to turn on it lights up and it sounds like it is running. But when I turn on the monitor..it says” No Input Signal ” ????? and the screen goes back to black ??
Any ideas? I am not in warranty so I can not call HP without paying for a consult…Thank you

First, check the monitor by removing the cable to the PC and replacing it. Find a friend with a laptop, have them drive the monitor from the laptop, to verify it working, but based on it giving you no monitor errors, I would bet it’s fine. Still not working, though

Then turn everything off, and remove the left PC side cover (from the front). observe the connection for the monitor on the back on the PC, and press firmly (Don’t bang, don’t beat, just a press)on any connectors and card (pushing toward the motherboard (the large board mounted on the opposing side of the opening on the PC)).

restart and observe

Still not working – try to tap F8 key and do a Windows safe start (you should get the text prompts for this).

If you did not get the text prompts, then likely the PC video has failed, as a minimum. On most media center PCs, you can go ahead and put in another video card, connect your monitor to that, and start the PC.

If this doesn’t work, then very likely the PC motherboard (with integrated video) is fried, not correctable cheap, unless you can get another MB off eBay.
