Yes, there are alot of callcentre helpdesk positions outsourced to India.
Just ask any of the upest people with internet or phones in the UK ;o)
…or people like me that lost jobs to India because they will work for less than our minimum wage.
There are so many infact that agents there are verbally abusive to their customers, steal from them and generally play around with their accounts… get fired and just go to another call centre.
Nearly all the UKs helpdesk services are outsourced to India and other “developing” countries that have no idea how our network topology or phone systems work (or even how to dial the operator in our country – lol)

Question by J Dogg: are there any american companies that dont outsource customer service jobs to india anymore?
every time i call one of these corporations customer service departments, i get confronted with a voice that is obviously indian, even though they claim their names are ‘bob’ or ‘jake’ or ive even heard ‘tiffany’. all with the indian accent of course. when did this become acceptable? why did we allow corporate america to do this to us? we have a 9 % unemployment rate, and yet these people are answering the phones. outrageous!

Many companies are starting to bring those jobs back to the US. However, I the savings is so huge for a US corporation, that they almost have to outsource. So, for utilities and other companies that you have to use, do not look for any drop in outsourcing.

Why outsource a PEO firm over a CPA and Accounting firm?
Question by : Why outsource a PEO firm over a CPA and Accounting firm?
I just started my business with about 20 people and currently use Talent HR Solutions, a PEO firm, to handle all of my HR Administration which includes pay rolling, staffing, medical and worker’s comp insurances. These guys have the lowest rates and are the best compared to their competitors in Honolulu, Hawaii. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with PEO firms?

The main benefit of using a PEO is to make things easier. Every business should have an accountant to watch the books, taxes, and so forth. Accounting is essential for running a business, but running a legitimate business takes much, much more… When a business begins to grow, workers are hired, and with more growth, those office workers begin to take-on legal, administrative, and HR functions. And with more employees come different laws, different taxes, different insurances. There are a lot of things to remember. Because of the high costs involved with having in-house departments, PEOs are especially a great option for start-ups, and smaller organizations.

Why do they outsource customer service jobs to other countries like Latin America and India?
Question by PJ: Why do they outsource customer service jobs to other countries like Latin America and India?
Granted it is to save costs, but rather customer services jobs where it requires you to speak fluent English to customers rather service jobs that do not require English. Especially Dell, where i have heard nothing but complaints about the customer service when you have to repeat something ten times or a whole lot of mis-communication.
Yes, I know to save money and people will work for cheaper, but how much is a customer service job here in the states? I have seen people do telemarketing for close to minimum wage. You can’t tell me that people in India are working for less than that? I have heard a lot of them are college educated. Doesn’t make sense.

Can anybody recommend a company to whom my start up can outsource customer service?
Question by eluft: Can anybody recommend a company to whom my start up can outsource customer service?
I am looking to outsource administration of a fairly straightforward product targeted at web developments. This will include monitoring the registration process, answering incoming questions and helping to maintain a FAQ. We are providing a web interface for the customer service agent to facilitate this process.

Have you calculate how much phone calls you are going to get? Does it worth to go “outsource” since it is a startup? Because don’t you want to find out about the “problems” and to improve your website’s process? If lots people called about registrating process, then you might want to check out why lots people have trouble with that?
Acutally, you can post ad locally to find someone who would like to work from home, and you can forward the customer service (800 number) to the person’s house, and you provide training and answer questions quickly. Because most out source is going to India (which I really hate, because I can’t even understand what they are saying).
